Another speed eating video?? We interrupted a Jeopardy game while canvassing and had to join their pizza eating race Not convinced? How about this: Rem has a long history of fighting for Waterloo students: they pushed to bring back the Night Bus, stop transit cuts, and prevent co-op fee increases. In addition to these accomplishments, their experiences include being MathSoc President and a Board Director of WCRI, where they stood up for academic support and affordable housing. These experiences show that they understand both the student perspective and the inner workings of university and government bureaucracy—they know not just what needs to be done, but how to get it done. Remington is excited to work with Team Horizon and stand up for your WUSA. No, but seriously: Damian has years of experience independently advocating for Waterloo students. Examples include bringing Night Transit back to Waterloo and leading the drive to stop major ION cuts, when off-peak frequency was to be cut from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. He has consistently advocated for Palestine, including being a frequent speaker at rallies for Divestment. He has also worked within WUSA’s systems: he founded a club and collaborated with a coalition of clubs to raise issues surrounding club financing and reimbursements. He is proud proud to have created real change with Team Horizon, and ready to continue that fight as President.
